What does it mean?

What does Jesus’ finished work at the cross mean for me?

It means that I have a constant fellowship with God because of the work of Christ. Because Christ experienced the wrath of God then I will never have to. God loves me so much that He saved me right in the middle of me dancing in my sins. He also loves me so much that He didnt leave me there. He brought sorrow to my sins so now I dance with Him in righteousness! I still sin but my heart is not for sin. It is for Him. And because my heart is for Him then my sin is washed away by the blood of Christ who saved me and took that wrath! So that I may have an unbroken relationship with my Father and I will NEVER be plucked from His hand!

Are you dancing in your sin today but feeling that pull for something different? Christ is calling.

Take one step in His direction. Let that current of His love sweep you away to a better life in an understanding of what He has done, who He is, and what He is still doing today.

Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

1 Peter 2:24-2
“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

Proverbs 29:25
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.

Seasons of Thanksgiving

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

This Thanksgiving I want everyone to remember their seasons. For a moment, think about your lonely season. Think about your broke down season. Think about your insecure season. And think about where you are now. Is it a good season? An everything is coming together season? A Jesus did it again season? Or maybe this, right now, is your lonely season. Maybe it is your nobody gets me season. Maybe its your I dont understand why my prayers are dropping season. Maybe you even can’t remember that last time you a had a good season. God tells us in Matthew that those who mourn are blessed for they will be comforted. This is a promise from God. God does not and can not break His promises. THAT is your HOPE. THAT is your COMFORT in times of trouble. You WILL be comforted. We all go through seasons. Don’t compare your season to someone else. Let their season inspire hope. Or let their season inspire empathy and prayer. God gave us each other. But most importantly He gave us HIM. When I feel a season of loneliness closing in I remember Jesus being alone in the wilderness the hours before He was taken away to His death. His diciples were all around Him but He still felt very much alone. Jesus constantly gave us examples of how to react during many obstacles in our lives. Jesus felt lonely, dread, and sadness. What did He do? How did He find comfort for all of those feelings? He prayed. He talked to His father. The One that never leaves us. The One always listening. The One that hears what only our spirit can groan. He hears you. He is with you. He will never leave you. And this situation you are in right now, my friend, is only a season. Embrace it. Be thankful throught it. You can come through this fire and not even smell like smoke. Impossible? Good thing we have a God that specializes in the impossible. And THAT is our THANKSGIVING!

Lord, we pray for those in the midst of it right now. Those that feel this season will never end. We pray for hope and comfort that surpasses all understanding. We pray they open their hearts to receive it. And most of all, for those that have not, we pray that they open their hearts to receive You. In Christ name we pray. Amen
